Sad to say I thought this was another disappointing bible movie from Angel Studios. It started out bad with David becoming an animal rights advocate by saving the lion that tried to kill his sheep instead of killing the lion. Here's what really happened:
1 Sam 17:34-36 But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; NKJV
In the middle of the movie the writer changed many things and of course, being a 2 hour move, he left out many things, but I was still starting to enjoy the movie and forgive the writer for making David a politically correct animal rights advocate, UNTIL THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE. Then the writer changed the true story completely and then changed David from a warrior to a pacifist. SAD SO SO SO SAD!

One other thing I found disturbing was the frequent reference to following the light. I have heard that if you want to join the masons, you must swear allegiance to "The Light". You cannot swear allegiance to the name of Jesus or Jehovah. It must be "The Light". That is not unusual for cult groups. 2 Cor 11:14 says, "For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." NKJV
So many writers submit to political correctness rather than truth. One of the last Angel studios movies I went to see was "Sight". I was very disappointed with that movie because the writer made communist Chinese party look like the good guys. Hollywood often does this so that they can get their movies shown in China. I did not think to look for my name at the end of the David movie but, if I remember correctly, I did help co-fund this movie. Another movie I helped to co-fund was a movie exposing the pharmaceutical companies in the 60s when JFK was president. We'll see if that movie ever gets made and if they change it to pacify the pharmaceutical industry.
